Short stay accommodation in Zemun. Zemun is a Belgrade municipality that was formed on the foundation of ancient Taurunum, under various influence of  Austro-Hungarian, Roman and Turkish rule. It was considered as an independent town with its own administrative center, while today is influential Belgrade’ neighborhood of vital importance of the development, incorporated to Belgrade in the late 18th century by decision of  Austrians. In that time he represented the brightest star during its history, because it was the only time when the Zemun had a role of capital. After many ups and downs, is preserved in one of the most beautiful residential areas of Belgrade, with a very attractive location on the right bank of the Danube River. Cobbles that decorate some of the streets are testifying the history, while on the oposite there are many popular bars and restaurants in urban area as a contrast. Zemun’s  panorama offers a view of a large number of cultural goods that testify history and  interwoven squares on which there are buildings of impressive architecture. Gardos is the heart and cultural center of Zemun, equivalent of  Skadarlija, where the Millennium Tower was built  in the former fortress in whose ground floor is a gallery. One of the oldest houses is Ickova house, built in honor of a merchant after whom is named, who had a significant role in peace talks with the Turkish Army, while in the impressive Glavna street is located  Zemun museum, currently under reconstruction, located in the old house once belonged to one of the wealthiest families. This is an area where various cultures and religions are mixed, and it is not surprising that you can easily find yourself surrounded by religious sites such as the Orthodox and the Catholic church, Mosque or Synagogue. The art is well represented here, so often are hold concerts, workshops, music and film festivals. In Zemun was opened the first private opera Madlenianum, and only puppet theater in Belgrade called Pinocchio.
