During the summer season, Belgrade offers various kinds of activities for all ages and interests. With its rich history, vibrant culture, classic attractions and exciting nightlife, Serbia’s capital is an attractive place for summer fun. The following are some suggestions for a planned stay in Belgrade.

 

Enjoy swimming and sunbathing on one of Belgrade’s many beaches. Ada Ciganlija is a great place to have fun on the sandy shores or enjoy sports such as water skiing or pedal boating. Lido is another popular beach, located on the northern tip of the Great War Island, with an attractive view of the river and downtown Zemun. Ada Huja, also on the Danube banks, attracts visitors with its beautiful nature and fishing/rowing arrangements.

Explore Kalemegdan, a historical complex that offers beautiful landscapes, fortress and a park. This imposing fort offers a panoramic view of the Sava-Danube confluence, making it perfect for taking photos. You can also visit the Military Museum located inside the memorial park and explore the urban history through exhibitions and artifacts. Kalemegdan has numerous green areas and walking trails, which is suitable for casual outdoor activities.

Visit the float clubs. Belgrade is known for its dynamic nightlife on the rivers. The float boats offer different types of music, from popular to electronic, and provide an unforgettable night out. These river clubs often organize themed parties, concerts and performances by popular local and foreign artists. In addition to music events, you can try a variety of food and drinks, while enjoying the view of the impressive bridges and waterfronts.

You will experience the authentic atmosphere of old Belgrade, with cobblestones, folk music and bohemian spirit. Enjoy delicious Serbian specialties such as barbecue, brandy and homemade cakes, while listening to live music. Explore Savamala, the center of Belgrade’s creative scene. Here you will find numerous cafes, restaurants and clubs. Savamala is known for its industrial buildings that have been converted into modern cultural centers. You can visit KC Grad, which organizes alternative culture events, or Beton Hall, a renovated warehouse which now houses numerous clubs and restaurants. Visit the Museum of Contemporary Art. This prestigious institution holds a collection of works by Serbian and international artists, as well as venues for exhibitions and cultural events. The museum is located near the Usce shopping center and represents an important institution for contemporary art in the region. You can explore a variety of artistic mediums, including painting, sculpture, installations and video works. Lectures, workshops and performances are regularly organized here for professional and general audiences.

Enjoy a walk through Tasmajdan, one of Belgrade’s largest parks. Beautiful flower gardens, fountains and playgrounds await you here, and you can also visit the distinctive St. Mark’s Church.
